I wrote the following article on Sun Nov 21, 2010 1:53 PM CST

In the aftermath of the Japanese occupation of Korea which ended with Japan's defeat in World War II in 1945, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel in accordance with a United Nations arrangement, to be administered by the Soviet Union in the north and the United States in the south. The history of North Korea formally begins with the establishment of the Democratic People's Republic in 1948.

The reason I mention North and South Korea is because all of Russia's friends seem to be producing Nuclear Weapons now. Iran, China, N. Korea and Russia are all looking pretty horrific.

Iran kidnapped our hikers. China sends us lead baby toys and puts chemicals in baby milk and now does not want to sell competing countries rare earth minerals.

Communist North Korea hates the USA and loves Russia. Now they are producing Nuclear materials and most certainly weapons.

Something nasty is on the horizon. Let us not forget that our interest in Afghanistan began when we were helping the country resist takeover from Russia.

China is probably the most technologically advanced nation and is producing Nuclear material and obviously weapons.

Iran has Nuclear technology because Russia gave it to them and supplied the fuel.

These countries are gearing up for an assault. Their weapons of mass destruction are obvious.

Special note: when I made the above comment I had a very strong feeling that S.Korea was about to be attacked.

And what is in the news today?

North, South Korea exchange fire after attack

2 soldiers killed by North's rockets; Seoul vows 'enormous retaliation' if North opens fire again

Any Questions? I believe strongly that Russia is arming other Nations because they want a war and do not want to be the one to fire the first shot.

I made the following comment Sun Nov 21, 2010 4:28 PM CST

Communist Countries are bringing Nuclear Weapons Online. Iran went from, "we are thinking about Nuclear Technology" to enriching more than 55 lbs of weapon grade Uranium a month.

Iran's plutonium program is less advanced than its uranium program but there are four known facilities currently planned or under construction.

You can thank Russia. As a matter of fact you can thank Russia for arming most of their friends who just happen to be our "Not so good friends".

They are arming for an attack.

I made this comment Sun Nov 21, 2010 5:24 PM CST

It is conceivable that Osama Bin Ladin flipped alliances long ago and is sitting in Russia at this moment. He could be in China or any other communist country sponsoring his campaign.

Iran said we will quit enriching uranium if Russia gives us Uranium. It was a smoke screen. Russia dived on the chance to supply all sorts of Nuclear Goodies to Iran.

You do realize the reason you can't go to Cuba is because Russia put missiles on the island and said they were going to bomb our asses?

Now all of Russia's important friends have Nukes.

Who really controls the Terrorists?

The reason I felt S.Korea was about to be attacked is because of the announcement made about N.Korea bringing Nukes online. N.Korea = Russia and S.Korea = USA.

Russia hates our occupation of Afghanistan and they always have. They also hate the Missile defense shield and stated if we (USA) continued to pursue the issue they would retaliate. They also hate that we defend S.Korea.

Make no mistakes, something very bad is about to happen.

Let us not forget Fidel Castro's recent comments:

August 7, 2010

Former Cuban President Fidel Castro warned today of imminent nuclear war and said the world's fate was in President Barack Obama's hands, as he addressed the Cuban National Assembly for the first time since taking ill four years ago.

This is a rare moment where I believe we can both agree on the likely outcome of these events. Nevertheless, I most certainly hope, however vain it may be, that it doesn't develop into a full-scale resumption of the War.

Guess we'll be watching this one pretty closely for a while. I'm looking forward to some non-expert analysis and debate on the situation here.

M.A.D. The policy from the cold war till today = Mutually Assured Destruction. Both the U.S.A. and the Russia have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the Earth several times over. Both sides are looking to avoid this. Plus China is our friend, they have been a huge customer of ours in terms of weapons of war. Weapons is our business.

Acapulco Kevin, I am not trying to derail your post it is just that as I read your post I am reminded of a biblical prophecy by Ezekiel (38 &39) and the attacking powers so I had to look it up. In this scripture it is Israel, not South Korea who is being attacked. The similarity is only in the countries assumed to be the ones who attack. These countries are only interpreted by current events rather than through actual scripture.

"Today, to the north of the nation Israel is the armed might of Russia. Never before has it seemed more likely that the prediction will be fulfilled given by Ezekiel (chapter 38-39) of an invasion from the north. To the east is the rising might of Red China, with the growing force of nationalism in India as well as the revival of Japan. Never before has it seemed more likely that there should be a tremendous military host coming from Asia,

The above quote came from www.biblicalstudies.com/bstudy/eschatology/ezekiel.htm.

Hope you do not mind my posting it as it is biblical prophecy mixed with current history.

South Korea is not attacking because of the nuclear capability of the North and its imminent attack on it. The North is lead by crazies, as well as its backers such as China and Russia. It is also seeing Al Quaida/Taliban attacks on the west becoming greater worldwide. The NK sees all of this terrorist success and a US administration that has spend ten years ripping up its military both internally and externally now senses weakness.

North Korea's goose stepping troops will be not that much different than the Nazis. When they start killing it will be with impunity and regard for life.

As soon as this depression begins to subside, our real powers that be, the ones that have been telling Obama what to do, run our monetary system, and determine how much of our economy is exported,

...will shove up the prices of everything from bread o water. How, these people now control both supply and suppliers. When you can do that price fixing is also par. As soon as the depression/recession cools watch for the price increases in gas/oil, commodities, and resources.

Greed is overwhelming among American leadership, its every politician, banker, and money manager for himself. The American people are about to get hammered.

When things get really bad, what usually follows, a world at war. This is the only way to get things back to normal, it seems. Yet this to is just a game. How many times have we capitulated to the of North Korea. After they blatantly sank a South Korea PT boat no retaliation was made. Now, again, they are pushing and what is happening, the South Koreans said, "Next time....we will fire back" bull@!$%#, more cowering.

You might be correct but I think N Korea is just looking to get additional food from the west. Remember the Soviets had a horrible growing season and the Chinese have enough of a problem feeding their own. So lob some shells into S Korea and receive food in return for not doing it again until at least next winter.

          Future predictions

          • Major catastrophe in 2012 - The Web Bot has gained most of its notoriety for contributing to the 2012 phenomenon by predicting that a cataclysm will devastate the planet in the year 2012, possibly a reversing of Earth's magnetic poles or a small series of nuclear attacks leading up to a major attack during the year. The prediction does not necessarily call for a complete end of the world.[20][21][22][23]

The following come from the Web Bot Project Blogspot report on a radio interview with High and Ure:

          • No warfare between Israel and Iran, at least not until November.
          • Six very large earthquakes are yet to come during the rest of 2010.
          • No exact information on the December 14th missile launch (beginning of World War III) has been confirmed, but the predictions show it may happen.
          • A second depression, triggered by mass layoffs, bankruptcies, and the popping of the "derivatives bubble," will see people moving out of cities.
          • After March 2011, the revolution wave will settle down into a period of reformation.
          • A "data gap" has been found between early 2012 running through May 2013. One explanation is that "our civilization gets knocked back to a pre-electronic state," such as brought about by devastating solar activity.
          • A new benign form of capitalism will emerge during 2017-2020.[24]

Interestingly enough I noticed you mentioned the 2012 prediction. When I learned of this in Mexico I had never heard of it before. I told my husband it would be due to nuclear war if anything.

The Mayan Indians predicted a that mankind will change, not be destroyed but changed on 12/21/2012 which is where the Mayan Calendar ends.

I watched a documentary and they claimed Nostradomus also predicted that date not knowing the Mayan prediction. He also stated that the world will not be destroyed but there would be a devastating event (s) that would change mankind and our way of life permanently.

Makes you wonder what the H-ll we are doing to each other and why...doesn't it

Oh I saw that one to MN. I found it astonishing that so many things lined up to exactly what Nostradamus predicted. I feel to this day although i'm not sure of what. Come 2012 something devastating is going to happen. Of course, I have no clue what or how, but it won't be pretty.

I know, from what I learned about the Mayans in Mexico and the documentary on Nostradomus my curiosity is really peaked. You always kind of go "naw that won't happen" but the two stories correlating exactly with each other is scary.

The problem with the Web-Bot is that the way in which it predicts things is by it noticing a higher than usual set off events, like keywords, searches, articles, etc. Basically it predicts things based on high activity that would be in keeping with something. If nobody used the web it cannot 'predict' a thing. If it noticed an elevated talk about let's say China, and that word was used in context or in the same date as 2012, and then if those two things were associated abnormally high with the word 'nuclear' and also 'ultimatum' and 'diplomatic talks exhausted' and so on, then it uses a formula based on those things in relationship to all the other news that has been about China up until that point. If those talks support the hypothesis of 'nuclear event sometime in 2012 with the U.S. and China, then there is the prediction. But it is actually more of an educated guess. You could actually fool it into a prediction if enough people put a scenario on the web and slowly enhanced the amount of internet activity about it, but that would require millions of people working full time for years to do.

With all the talk on the net about 2012 and all that Mayan calender ending on 2012 along with all the other doomsday talk I don't know how it would miss predicting something.

Sticking to facts is sufficient for this discussion.

                  • On Saturday morning October 23, 2010: 50 Nuclear Bomb ICBMs suddenly dropped down into what's known as "LF Down" status, meaning that the military in their bunkers no longer could communicate with the missiles themselves. LF Down status also means that various security protocols built into the missile delivery system, like intrusion alarms and warhead separation alarms, were offline.

One more note - STUXNET is aptly given a Russian name. Russia gave Iran the Nukes and are not trying to take them offline. They are working with China to see if taking our defenses and power grid offline is possible. Obviously, it is.

South Korea will be the first target and Russia will take it's stance from there.

Castro's speech didn't do much for me, it sounded like Castro was just waving his fist. However, I will start getting concerned when S. Korea retailates and the result of that retaliation. Now, as afloatinasea stated, it could have something to do with trying to get food through bullying tactics.

These days I'm less worried about the masses of bombs countries might have and the one that is not accounted for. Those could be what starts a war.

Having walked some of those mountains and ridges that will be fought over should this indeed escalate, I don't think that folks realize just how many casualties would result from combat in Korea.

It will NOT be a mechanized war, as the wars in the middle east have been.

It will be much more like the current war in Afghanistan, with grunts walking in the mountains.

The FACT is that the US does NOT have enough infantry troops to fight a war like this at this time.

Then throw the weather conditions that occur there in on top of it and you can expect a huge loss of life.

Folks seem to forget that we lost 54,246 lives in the space of three years in that "conflict".

                      http://www.rt66.com/~korteng/SmallArms/casualty.htm

Compare that to the 58,000 lives lost in TEN years involvement in Vietnam.

I don't think a war is going to happen with the Korea's, but I do think within the next few years Kim Jong will die and his son will take over. Then I think it gets scary. Not from the son, but will North Korea go through a countywide revolution? Because supposely Kim Jung-Un is not even 30. I think that once the old man goes, he is immediately overthrown and the country becomes more chaotic.

I agree. Read what I wrote below. N. Korea knows that if they actually put even a little 50Kt. nuclear device into Seoul in South Korea that it would instantly kill millions of people. I don't believe that the U.S. would sit back and wring their hands. I know we would at least double that into the capital of the North. All North Korea would get from it would be misery, and I can't see them committing suicide for no reason.

I don't know what to make of this yet. I've lived through a few wars and even more threats, so, of course, I know anything is possible. But... I think it is a bit premature to make snap judgments. I'll say this much: with our own resources spread so thin, such as in Afghanistan, we'd have a much more difficult time dealing with a full scale attack anywhere. My attitude is that we need to be ready to defend our own borders, and go outside them only if begged by a country under attack. Too often, we go where we are really not wanted, and that serves no purpose except to deplete our own resources.

So... it remains to be seen if there is a new Korean War or if it is all just posturing on the part of North Korea.

I want to believe this is just a "Posturing" move but North Korea has nukes.

They also do not care about the world opinion.

Russia has given everyone Nuclear abilities, they are not doing this to be a friend to the USA.

Someone mentioned that "China is our friend" ~ when did friend happen? Just because nations buy and sell their junk does not make us friends. China is Russia's friend.

                          Our First Amendment

The problem with thinking that N. Korea would actually nuke, or even invade the South or provoke a major war with any other country at this time is this..North Korea knows what would happen to them if they did, especially use their nukes. I believe they are for last ditch defensive use because of the way they go about letting every country know they have them. Plus Kim Jung Ill is preparing to give power over to his son. N. Korea has even went to the effort of performing plastic surgery on the little bastard to make him look like 'The Great Leader,' his Grandfather, and he does look like a totally different person and has stopped his playboy lifestyle as he is being groomed to take power. All of that is already known as fact. The North has put great effort into making sure that the people believe that he will be another 'Great Leader.'

I believe they know just how far they can go without all out war, and they certainly know what nuking Seoul would bring their country, their people, and the future of his son. I would be willing to bet that the sinking of the Souths Navy ship, along with this shelling of S. Korean soil is just part of a big propaganda move on their part. Kim jung Ill's son is most likely being heralded as saving the N. Korean people from an attack by the South by calling for this on his own. The reason for that is because if you notice, they shelled an Island of the South's, not the mainland..why? because the population of N. Korea can see the island, but they cannot see very far into the South.

With the recent activity and posturing of the son as successor of N. Korea, it just seems more likely. While the military of the North are real bastards, you have to take into account that even real bastards have families, and a nuclear strike on the South would provoke a retaliation by the South in excess of what they received. It would not be a measured response by any means. It would be naive to believe that we removed all of our nukes from the South.

I am not sure that N. Korea is posturing at all. It has been threatening. I believe it is instigating a war. first through sinking the navel vessel and now by shelling an Island. The sinking showed that it could do ir, a threat; so denial, but the shelling yesterday is actually an act of war.

Oh, I don't know. What is the greatest nation on earth?

Your answer to that question will indicate if you fear a war on the horizon or not.

                              I am not worried.

Does the US being called the greatest nation give us a special ability to void a nuke attack?

I don't think North Korea will try to nuke the USA - today.

I do believe they will nuke South Korea soon.

I sure would like to think so. I'm afraid we've allowed ourselves to live as though we are invensable and the devil has snuck in the back door.

I read that most countries do not look at us as the greatest country in the world, but as the greatest terrorist country in the world. This can be found in "A People's History of the United States, by Howard Zinn.

When postulating about geopolitical war, one must consider all factors in addition to the obvious ideological component. This is especially true for the economic situation. China, having surpassed Russia as the preeminent power in east Asia, would not allow a small radical state like North Korea to interfere with its currently advantageous trade relationship with the U.S. - at least not yet.

China's economy is booming, and if current trends continue, will likely replace the U.S. as the world's financial superpower in the next 2-3 decades. With its growing capital reserves, and increasingly superior position in international relations, eventually will allow it to match America's military might. It is then, and only then, that China would consider war as a method to further its aims.

Russia is an enigma right now, torn between hard-line communists and its greedy capitalist oligarchy. It is still not clear which side will prevail, but the oligarchs currently hold the upper hand - and it is they who are selling nuclear technology on the black market and making huge profits. Russia cannot compete militarily with the U.S., and it cannot compete economically with China. How their role in the coming decades, will manifest itself on the world stage is anyone's guess.

Something nasty is on the horizon. Let us not forget that our interest in Afghanistan began when we were helping the country resist takeover from Russia.

Was it of common knowledge to the citizenry that we were mechanically active at that time (The Unknown War)?

All wars are caused by Greed, God, ideology, etc. are mere excuses. One king wants what another king has.

Nukes may be used in a war. The cause of it will be a need for food and/or water. Of greater danger are biological weapons (the poor nation's atomic bomb). Politicians always look for ways to blame "them". "Them" can be anyone.

Two major contributors to global unrest are the UN and USAID, two organizations who are tasked with helping the developing world. Look at Haiti and Somalia as examples. These organizations are self-serving and totally politically motivated. The cost of what they actually do is extraordinary. They write papers and reports. They produce little.

But food and water (along with the population explosion) are not sexy subjects. The Military-Industrial Complex is, all that shinning hardware. It is also profitable. Small wars mean big money. Will they get out of hand? Maybe, but that has been the case most of my life. SNAU is a military term.

This is truly a fear my husband and I have had. We have been watching many countries and the heated discussion, lack of cooperation. My husband got out of the army 20+ years ago and after watching a "climate change" going on he came back into the army. We are truly headed for something nasty.

We have also begun to think about what we need to survive for a number of years when the food market gets bad and I'm sure it will.

I have thought about this for a long while. There is still a Cold War going on and we have to realize that it is more than Nukes at stake here. Cyber Wars, tech spying, stolen information, subterfuge and black ops have never stopped.

                                        Nukes were the big deterrent.

Now knowledge and technology are our number one weapons and defense. We better develop better ways to see inside our enemies minds.

North Korea is a stange baby and we must watch her like a good baby sitter would. China has used North Korea as a political foil and now seems unable to pull in the reins, we will have to wait and see.

What worries me is that we know Russia and China are up to no good.

50 of our Nuclear war heads were offline and no one knew why. We lost control of them and that could have been disastrous.

China took over NASA and Pentagon computer communications for over 18 minutes. The Government knew it was China.

They apparently have us at a disadvantage, they are able to Disable Our Nukes and take down Pentagon Computers.

The above events happened within the last month. They are hugging the USA with a death embrace and a smile.

It is not that China and Russia are up to no good. Their politicians are looking out for the interests of their respective countries. They are doing their job. We want to forget that countries do not have friends. They have interests.

While we fight wars, China is buying influence and mineral rights. They are doing what we should be doing. During the economic downturn, they built infrastructure while we bailed out banks and fought wars. They made investments. We squandered money and the lives of our finest men and women. We now are looking for ways to claim victory.

It is the US which is not working to solve problems caused by climate change and over population. On these subjects, I hate to say, we are acting like spoiled brats. We are also being shortsighted because green technology could really be the source of a new run in our economy.

America IS the greatest power on Earth and can be a great agent for positive change if we will start leading and stop begging for and buying friends. Any friend who can be bought is a wh*&e. We need to stand for the best of American idealism, join together as a people, and work with the unity of purpose espoused by JFK. For too long, we have had the politics of divide.

You know there is something that folks are overlooking in this discussion.

Everyone wonders about what China will do IF something happens.

Well to put it bluntly war is GREAT for "population control".

The last war there that China participated in, they accumulated about 1 million casualties.

Now there is currently an EXCESS of males of military age in China due to their family planning policies. I believe that the estimated number is somewhere around 10 MILLION males, that will be unable to find a mate.

In my book 1 + 1 has always equalled 2.

South Korea has some excellent harbors, a geographic position to threaten Japan AND Russia, and it would also wipe out the last remaining US military bases on mainland Asia if lost.

Add those considerations to the population pressures(especially among young men) and it is NOT inconceivable that North Korea would get China's blessing and support to go ahead and invade.

I don't know if your read is the correct one for the future, but we are in for a great "leveling" of some type. This world is just nuts. Nuclear standoffs, fraid global relations, hate, and the unknown of 2012 add up to a rough ride in the two years to come, that's for sure.

I do like your speculation; it shows someone is thinking about the mess we have made of earth.

I think speculation based on evidence has often been the precursor of past wars based on less evidence. With the Internet it has become much easier for average citizenry to compile data as I have done for this article. I read a tremendous amount of data daily and do not often forget what I read.

When I started writing on this topic I had already researched the recent computer attacks and situations involving Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. We have been in wars with less evidence and provocation.

I also believe if we do not act swiftly and relentlessly against North Korea we will regret the outcome.

North Korea doesn't have the economic capacity to wage war, with out outside help, they couldn't even feed an army. Kim is not so crazy to start a war without Chinese support, and if he started the war he wouldn't get it, witch is why he provokes S Korea to try and put the blame on them to get Chinesehelp, but Mao is dead and China has more reason to help us then them these days. China's not giving up a trillion dollar trade deal with us to help little Kim.

China has already attacked the USA. If you read above and do a quick Google you will see that they have recently rerouted NASA and Pentagon communications and were actively stealing our data. They have also cut off Rare Earth supplies to USA and Japan.

They do not care about what we consider good economics. Today their is an announcement that Russia and China are not going to use the US Dollar for trade.

A clear message is being sent.

ST.PETERSBURG, Russia — Prime Minister Vladimir Putin says Russia and China have agreed to increase the use of national currencies in bilateral trade.

After talks with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Tuesday, Putin said Russia will start allowing trading in the yuan on Moscow's currency exchange next month.

China has just allowed the yuan to start trading against the Russian ruble in its interbank market.

Until now, the two nations have mostly traded in U.S. dollars. China has encouraged the yuan's use for cross-border trade to reduce its reliance on the dollar.

Following the talks, Russia's state-controlled Atomstroiexport signed a contract to build another two reactors at China's Tianwan nuclear power plant south of Shanghai. The contract value wasn't disclosed.

And More Nukes. Nuclear everything seems to be a hot topic for Russia, China, North Korea and Iran. Not looking good.

Those aren't attacks, we don't have to do business with them if we choose not to. China and Russia is getting rich off us these days, its not about communism and capitalism anymore. Spying is what all nations do.

You both forget that North Korea has nuclear weapons and the delivery systems that make them untouchable. Billy the Kid was a 4' Nazi also, but he had Sam Colt's latest invention, making him equal. North Korea can get its way by extorting the pacific neighbors, like Japan and the Phillipines.

I am forgetting nothing. I think we need to turn North Koren into a crater. No conventional war, no men on the ground. We have the weapons to disable their infrastructure and kill the inhabitants without damaging the buildings.

It is coming down to us or them, if we do not act ruthlessly and decisively I strongly believe they will attempt to kill everyone in South Korea.

They have already proven their willingness. China will help them.

War wouldn't solve anything, they have crossed lines other nations would have declared war over many times before. But the S Koreans and some Americans know, its just not worth another war, let the commies sit up there and rot, the time when war was an acceptable option for nations has passed. I wouldn't see Americans dieing in Korean War 2, that's just throwing away our peoples lives away for nothing. I think we have seen the results of a "preemptive strike" in Iraq. Has America come this far just to trow it all away now with a new world war? We are the only hope to maintain a lasting peace in the world, that's why Americans shouldn't talk that way.
