Medical Marijuana and You

According to the NORML website 14 states have Medical Marijuana laws:

Fourteen states and Washington, DC -- Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington

I am interested in knowing if you use Medical marijuana.

My questions are:

  1. What state are you in?
  2. Why do you use Medical Marijuana?
  3. Do you buy Marijuana in a dispensary or grow your own?
  4. How much does it cost in a dispensary?
  5. How much do you smoke each month?
  6. Have you been bothered by the police?
  7. Do you use papers a pipe or vaporizer?

Thanks. I believe this is a very interesting discussion and am very curious to hear your answers and comments.

"Hello, is this the FBI?" "Yes, what do you want?" "I'm calling to report my neighbor Billy Bob Smith! He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood." "Thank you very much for the call, sir."

The next day, the FBI agents descend on Billy Bob's house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They swore at Billy Bob and left.

The phone rings at Billy Bob's house. Hey, Billy Bob! Did the FBI come?" "Yeah!" "Did they chop your firewood?" "Yep." "Happy Birthday, Buddy!"

Actually as my grandson says,"It's grandmothers medical tobacco"......he's 6. It goes with my medical card, that makes me legal, first time in 50 years....my,my......time flies when one is having fun. I would not change a thing, what a marvelous ride I've had....... As for the wood...well I lived in the mountains for years [alone] and heated a log cabin totally with wood.....6 cords per/year...I've cut, hauled, stacked enough wood to last 2 life times.....oh,I live in the wonderful state of Washington.....with a poss. move to Eastern Oregon next year....

I love the joke! I don't smoke anything - gave up cigarettes 3 years ago this month, so wouldn't use pot in any event. Not legal in my state, anyway, but I'm close enough to DC that if I wanted the stuff, I could go there for it. It's great when baked into cookies or brownies!

Problem with Ice cream, cookies and brownies made with pot is that you get the munchies while you are eating. Makes Jenny Craig happy.

#3.1: you get the munchies while you are eating.

Getting munchies while doing munchies? Yeah... Jenny Craig must be ecstatic!

It's been 40 years since I baked pot into cookies...

It is a funny thing, pot makes me lose my appetite. I used to smoke it all the time it was kind of a social thing. Now I don't smoke it very often, not a puff in probably 6 months. But when I do smoke it, I like it better than drinking. But I drink less than I smoke pot so I guess that kind of explains it.

Well you are truly blessed and in a vast minority......or all those munchie jokes would not be floating around...I have only smoked with close friends all my life.....prefer to smoke than drink, neither of which do I do on a regular basis and NEVER when I had to go to work [pot] or be in public ...except the over the edge times of Concerts [in the old days]....those were surreal times I must say.....

When I was living in California, I didn't smoke pot, but I had friends that were suppliers for dispensaries only. Seemed like a lucrative career and they were very meticulous about their plants, what effects each plant were suppose to have, what they smelled or tasted like. It was very interesting to see that side of the business.

Yes,it seems certain plant strains as specific to certain ailments.....very interesting. We did not invent the medicinal use for cannabis. The greedy government just could not find a way to corral the stuff and reap ALL the profits like they did Alcohol...It was legal until the early 20's or30's and then the "the weed that eats your brain" surfaced ....Prohibition must have driven that bus..
